Subscription Terms

[ATTORNEY: review this document against US state automatic-renewal laws (for example California's ARL, and the laws of New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia and others), the FTC's Negative Option Rule and ROSCA, and the EU and UK rules on subscriptions. Confirm the disclosures, the consent wording at checkout, the renewal reminder timing, the cancellation flow, and who (we or the Merchant of Record) must send which notice.]

These terms apply to Maison Calibre memberships and sit alongside our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

1. What a membership is

A Founders membership gives access to every Maison Calibre face, including future faces, at your membership tier (Essentiel, Signature or Grand Atelier) while the membership is active. It is offered as an annual plan (the default, and the better value) or a monthly plan, which costs more over a year. Faces you only have through the membership stop unlocking when it ends and go to the sealed dial (a dimmed dial with plain hands and an activation QR code, without complications). Faces you own, including those you turned into owned faces with a keep-forever credit, stay yours.

2. Pricing

Monthly plans are charged every month at one price: Essentiel $2.99, Signature $3.99 and Grand Atelier $4.99 a month, plus a visible $0.49 payment fee each month (so $3.48, $4.48 and $5.48 are charged). They have no first-year discount.

Annual plans use Founders pricing, a first-year price followed by a higher renewal price:

  • Essentiel: $19.99 for the first year, then $29.99 a year;
  • Signature: $29.99 for the first year, then $39.99 a year;
  • Grand Atelier: $39.99 for the first year, then $49.99 a year.

Prices are in US dollars. We cover the payment fee on annual plans; on monthly plans the $0.49 fee is shown before you pay and is never added later. If you bought a face on its own within the 30 days before taking an annual membership, its price comes off your first annual payment (counted once; the first payment never drops below $4.99). Sales tax, where it applies, is shown at checkout. In the EU and UK, shown prices include VAT. Current prices are always shown on our pricing page.

3. Automatic renewal

Your membership renews automatically at the end of each period, for the same length, at the then-current renewal price shown above (or as changed under section 6), until you cancel. At checkout we ask you to agree specifically to automatic renewal, and we record your consent with the order. The charge is made to the payment method you used, through Polar.

We will send you a reminder by email 20 days before an annual renewal, stating the price and how to cancel. (California requires a reminder 15 to 45 days before an annual renewal; 20 days sits inside that window.) 4. How to cancel

You can cancel at any time, online, as easily as you signed up:

  1. Sign in at maisoncalibre.watch and open My Faces.
  2. Choose Manage membership, then Cancel membership. [Founder: confirm the cancel route is built and matches this text.]

There is no phone call, form or reason to give. Cancelling online from your account page is always available.

You can also cancel through the Merchant of Record's customer portal linked from your receipt, or by emailing info@bsvsoft.com; we will cancel it for you promptly. You do not need to call anyone or give a reason.

After you cancel, your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the membership does not renew. We do not give partial refunds for unused time, except that any membership charge can be refunded within 14 days of that charge under the Refund Policy (which also cancels the membership), and the statutory 14-day right for new EU and UK memberships in section 4a is unaffected. 4a. EU and UK: cancelling a new membership within 14 days

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may cancel a new membership within 14 days of buying it and get a refund. If you asked for the membership to start immediately, we keep a proportionate charge for the days you have already used, and refund the rest (including any tax on the refunded part). To use this, cancel from your account page or write to info@bsvsoft.com. This right is separate from the one-time faces you buy, which are delivered immediately; with your consent at checkout the statutory withdrawal right ends, but our 14-day refund still applies (see the Refund Policy). [ATTORNEY: confirm this treatment of memberships under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; if the withdrawal button (Directive 2023/2673) applies, confirm who provides it.]

5. Keep-forever credits

  • Memberships earn one credit when you subscribe and one more every 90 days while the membership stays active: at most 5 credits in your first membership year and 4 in each later year, whether you pay monthly or yearly. On a monthly plan the first credit comes with your second monthly payment. Cancelling and subscribing again, or switching between monthly and yearly, does not start a new first year.
  • Each credit is earned at your plan's edition and never upgraded. A credit records the edition level of your plan at the payment that earned it (Essentiel, Signature or Grand Atelier). It turns one face into a face you own at that level or lower. Changing plan later does not change credits you already have, and a credit never becomes a higher edition. We do not sell edition upgrades.
  • Expiry. Credits never expire while a membership of yours is active. When your membership ends, unused credits expire 365 days after the end date. If you subscribe again before then, they no longer expire. We email you a reminder 30 days before your credits expire. [ATTORNEY: confirm expiry is fair in the EU and under California gift-certificate rules; credits are not cash.] Faces you have already turned into owned faces with credits stay yours forever.
  • My Faces shows each credit's level and any expiry date.
  • Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred. If a payment is refunded, only the credits that payment earned are revoked.

5a. Customization subscription (coming soon)

We plan a separate subscription (coming soon) for custom logos and extra text beyond the free engraving, together with a logo studio. It is not available yet. It is planned at $9.99 a year, billed yearly only. It is not a membership: it does not unlock faces and does not earn credits. When it is offered, it renews automatically until you cancel, with the same consent, reminder and cancellation rules as a membership, and it will be described in full here before you can buy it.

6. Price changes

We may change the price of a membership for future periods. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal, so you can cancel before the new price applies. If you do not cancel, the new price applies from the next renewal. Changes to plan structure may mean moving to a new plan, which we will explain before it applies.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, the Merchant of Record may retry it. If it cannot be collected, the membership ends and access to membership-only faces stops (the face goes to the sealed dial).
